HIS host IPC Route to Net Zero Conference
The Healthcare Infection Society (HIS) in collaboration with Infection Prevention Society (IPS) will host the second IPC Route to Net Zero Conference. The conference is FREE for members of both HIS and IPS.

The Healthcare Infection Society (HIS) in collaboration with the Sustainability Special Interest Group of the Infection Prevention Society (IPS) will host the second IPC Route to Net Zero Conference.

The conference will take place between 9:30-16:00 on 10 December 2024, and will be hosted online this year to expand the geographic accessibility of the event, while minimising the event’s carbon footprint. The conference is FREE for members of both HIS and IPS.

Sarah Adibi, CEO of Healthcare Infection Society, commented, 'Sustainability and the Net Zero Initiative are central to the work of all IPC professionals. We hope this conference will be a practical step towards answering some of the pressing issues in the discipline, from the environmental impact of single use PPE items, to the impact of the hospital built environment on emissions and waste'.

The programme features a range of speakers, real-life case studies and industry presentations of interest to IPC practitioners, sustainability teams, and procurement and estates professionals looking to reduce their organisation’s impact on the planet.
