Wednesday 25 March, Manchester (workshop 1-4pm / networking 4-5pm)
If you are interested in avoiding infection risks when building healthcare facilities, this workshop is for you.
Organised by the Healthcare Infection Society's Special Interest Group Built Environment Infection Prevention Initiative (BEIPI) in collaboration with Institute of Healthcare Engineering & Estate Management (IHEEM), the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and Architects for Health (AfH), it will bring together leaders in Infection Prevention and Control, clinicians, healthcare planners, architects, engineers, contractors and estates teams to accelerate progress on reducing infection risks in healthcare environments and reducing the threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
This session will explore future directions and emerging questions through a facilitated exercise, before turning to a shared discussion on long-term aspirations. The session will then focus on reflecting on how progress might be achieved, drawing on earlier insights to consider possible pathways forward.
The workshop builds on the work done over the last year by the Built Environment Infection Prevention Initiative (BEIPI), summarised in the BEIPI prospectus. Following this workshop a report/whitepaper will be released.
