Dr Charlotte Hammer

Dr Charlotte Hammer is an applied infectious diseases epidemiologist in the Disease Dynamics Unit at the University of Cambridge and a fellow of Downing College, Cambridge. Her research focusses on emerging and high consequence infectious diseases, with a focus on post-spillover amplification, covering aspects such as risk factor identification, development of novel surveillance systems, and early warning and rapid outbreak response mechanisms for acute febrile illnesses and emerging infectious diseases of zoonotic origin. Aside from her academic work, she also maintains a strong involvement in applied infectious diseases public health practice, particularly in outbreak response and epidemic intelligence.
