Chair

Dr Surabhi Taori

Dr Surabhi Taori is a Consultant in medical microbiology at NHS Lothian and has been working in the field of infection management for over 2 decades. She is passionate about medical education and dedicated to improving the training experience for future infection specialists.

Surabhi is the Chair of Federation Societies Conference 2026 and Chair of the HIS Professional Development Committee.

Dr Paul Robertson

Dr Paul Robertson is a consultant microbiologist in NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Scotland. He holds degrees in Medicine and Medical Microbiology from Edinburgh University, an MD from Cardiff University, and a BA in Theology from Aberdeen University. Before becoming a microbiologist, he worked in a range of infection-related roles: a Research Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital, an ID/medicine trainee in south Wales and Glasgow, and a microbiology Specialty Doctor in Lanarkshire. He is the co-author of a review of infection specialist staffing in Scotland, recently published in Clinical Infection in Practice, and is a member of the Scottish Microbiology and Virology Forum's workforce subgroup.

Sinéad Creedon, Lecturer, University College Cork

Sinéad Creedon is a Lecturer and PhD Scholar in the School of Public Health, University College Cork, and Academic Programme Director of the Postgraduate Certificate in Infection Prevention & Control. Her research focuses on IPC leadership, burnout, resilience, workforce wellbeing, and behaviour change in healthcare. Her PhD research investigates the prevalence, predictors, and impact of burnout among infection prevention and control practitioners during and since the COVID-19 pandemic, with a particular focus on identifying evidence-based approaches to support resilience, wellbeing, and workforce sustainability.

Dr Judith Johnson, Reader, University of Manchester

Dr Judith Johnson is an HCPC-registered clinical psychologist, Reader in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Manchester, and Director of Manchester Catalys, a clinical academic partnership with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Her research focuses on healthcare workforce wellbeing, burnout, patient safety, psychological resilience and clinical communication. She has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and develops proactive, evidence-based support for healthcare professionals. Her current work includes a Royal College of Pathologists-funded project to understand and support the pathology workforce.
